Lipstick Review and Swatches: Rimmel Moisture Renew Dazzling Duchess Collection

Thursday, September 19, 2013

The other day I picked up three shades from Rimmel London's Dazzling Duchess Collection, which came out in early June. I had wanted to try the revamped formula of this line and was even more excited that the lipsticks now had SPF20.

See what I think of these lipsticks after the jump!

This is how Rimmel describes them:
Give your lips the royal treatment.
Moisture Renew Lipstick reduces lip dryness by up to 65% with vitamins A, C, & E.  6 new rich, vibrant shades in berries, pinks, and nudes.  Apply Moisture Renew Lipstick for smooth, hydrated lips with intense color.
Dermatologist tested.

The bad thing about super-moisturizing lipsticks is that sometimes they are so slippery on the lips that they barely last and end up all over the place. But I wanted to give these a chance and I really liked them. They're very pigmented and each last me about 3 to 4 hours of perfect wear before a touch up is needed.

Let's Get Naked is a pinky-nude that is perfect for work or a smokey eye. The pink in this fits my lips so much better than another nude in the Moisture Renew line, Nude Delight.

Back to Fuchsia is a cool-toned bright fuchsia pink.  This is one of those shades you really have to be in a funky mood to wear.

As You Want Victoria is a bit deeper and warmer than BTF. For daytime, I'll be paring this and Back to Fuchsia with a simple eye (no eyeshadow and just a touch of eyeliner, just mascara, so very J.Crew).

Final Thoughts:
The new Rimmel London Moisture Renew lippies (retail price: $6.99) did surprise me with their pigmentation, non-drying quality and shade range, but they don't blow my breath away like the Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquers did.

 Hope you enjoyed!

  4. Hey Caitlin!! How are you?! Are you referring to GIVENCHY Photo'Perfexion Fluid Foundation? I've never tried it but it looks like it's still available on Sephora.com! http://www.sephora.com/photo-perfexion-fluid-foundation-spf-20-pa-P235346 From its description, similar high end foundations I would look at are : YSL's Le Teint Touche Eclat, Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation, and the new Marc Jacobs gel foundation!

  5. Hey Melissa! Thanks! Go try it! the good thing about these lipsticks is that you can open up them up without breaking a sticker/seal so you can really see the color up close. It'll look good with a smokey eye — Arya loves that ;)
