Milani Rose Powder Blushes | Review + Swatches

Aside from lipstick, my favorite beauty product definitely has to be blush. I have a huge collection of both high end and drugstore blushes — I just can't get enough!

Since I have quite a few of Milani's Baked shimmery blushes, I knew I had to pick up a couple from the brand's newer line of matte Rose Powder blushes to check them out.

Yesterday, my friends and I had a little picnic at Meridian Hill park here in DC. Since I knew I was going to be out in the heat for a few hours, I wanted to keep my makeup light but sweat-proof, and that called for cream products!

I'd been dying to try a Jo Malone cologne for awhile, but couldn't figure out what scent to check out. After Lily Pebbles mentioned Wood Sage + Sea Salt cologne as a favorite, I ran to Nordstrom to give it a sniff and swiftly came home with it!

My Signature Beauty Look

Ah, the signature beauty look. For me, that means matte light brown shadow on the eyes, nude liner on the water line, lots of mascara, a mostly matte base, bold brows, and matte red lips. Classic. Something I can wear for decades to come.

I Heart DC Part One: Cherry Blossom Season

A few weeks ago, I went down to the Tidal Basin to check out the 2015 National Cherry Blossom Festival. The cherry blossom trees are one of my favorite things about DC, but the crowds are madness! I wasn't able to take as many photos as I wanted to, but I was happy with the ones I did manage to take!

L'Oréal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds Lipstick Review: Doutzen's Red + Julianne's Red

Just in time for Mother's Day, L'Oréal Paris recently came out with a new lipstick collection, the L'Oréal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds. Similar to the last Collection Exclusive release, each lipstick shade in the Pure Reds line is named after a L'Oréal celebrity spokesmodel. I picked up 400 Doutzen's Red and 401 Julianne's Red, since my skintone is most similar to Doutzen Kroes and Julianne Moore's coloring. Check them out!

There's A New NYX Taupe (It's Paraben-Free!)

Recently, NYX reformulated their powder blushes and came out with a new HD line ($6.49 each).  Once I learned that their new HD line was paraben-free, I quickly scanned the list of available shades, and there's a new Taupe!

So I Tried Wayne Goss' Foundation + Facial Oil Trick

Back in January, Wayne Goss posted a YouTube video featuring a trick he learned from Scott Barnes: mixing one drop of non-fragrant oil (like jojoba, avocado or argan) with a liquid or cream foundation results in the most beautiful, radiant skin-like finish on the face. Last week, I finally got my hands on Sad Girl, a purpley-vampy shade from Anastasia Beverly Hills' new liquid lipstick collection. I had read that this was one of other beauty bloggers' favorite shades because of its unique shimmer, and I love vampy lips in the winter, so I ordered this and Pure Hollywood, the other much-talked-about shade.
