FOTD: Drugstore Smokey Blue Eyes

Sunday, October 6, 2013

Last weekend, my friend Megan hosted an Oktoberfest party at her house, and since it was a nighttime party, I decided to take the opportunity to experiment with a relatively new purchase: L'Oréal Infallible eyeshadow in the shade Midnight Blue, a gorgeous blue/purple/black shade.

See how I got the look!

I first patted Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Lavish Lavender (Summer 2013 Limited Edition) all over the lid as a base to make the shadows on top pop. Then, with a flat shader brush I patted L'Oréal Infallible eyeshadow Midnight Blue all over the lid and with a pencil brush, I smudged it on the lower lashline.

I took a bit more of Midnight Blue on a blending brush and blended it into my crease. With a clean, smaller crease brush I used the purple shade Plum Passion from It Cosmetics Luxe Anti-Aging High Performance eyeshadow palette and a also added a teensy bit of the purple as well on the lower lashline. I took a clean Sigma E40 blending brush and blended, blended blended to make sure there were no harsh lines.

I lined my waterline and tightlined with Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Deep Blue. To make this look even more dramatic, I lined my eyes with  L'Oréal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner 24 Hour in Navy and extended the line for a bit of a cat eye. I topped the eye look off by curling my lashes and adding tons of coats of L'Oréal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara in Blackest Black.

The lip look I am wearing is MAC cremesheen lipstick Crème Cup topped off with NYX Buttergloss in Crème Brulee.

I'm really happy how this eye look turned out. Hope this inspired you to get a little daring this fall season!

 Hope you enjoyed!
