L'Oréal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds Lipstick Review: Doutzen's Red + Julianne's Red

Thursday, May 7, 2015

Just in time for Mother's Day, L'Oréal Paris recently came out with a new lipstick collection, the L'Oréal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds. Similar to the last Collection Exclusive release, each lipstick shade in the Pure Reds line is named after a L'Oréal celebrity spokesmodel. I picked up 400 Doutzen's Red and 401 Julianne's Red, since my skintone is most similar to Doutzen Kroes and Julianne Moore's coloring. Check them out!

In both pictures above, 400 Doutzen's Red is on the left and 401 Julianne's Red is on the rightFirst off, I love the rubberized matte black and gold detail makes the lipsticks look very high-end! Even though they look very similar at first glance, Doutzen's Red is clearly more orange than Julianne's Red when swatched. In fact, Julianne's Red is very pinky-red. Both shades wear around four hours on me, and have that great matte finish that I love. They do lose some points for having "old lady" Colour Riche lipstick smell. I also wish L'Oréal would change the shape of the actual lipstick tube for the Colour Riche line, as it's starting to look dated.

The L'Oréal Collection Exclusive Pure Reds retail for $8.99. I don't believe they're limited edition, so I would check them out next time there's a BOGO sale at your local drugstore!

I purchased the products I mention above with my own money.
