Nails of the Day: Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel 'Bordeaux'

The other day I went to my local Bed Bath & Beyond Store to pick up a couple kitchen items, and you know of course I swung by the makeup and skincare section. To my delight, I saw that Revlon has a new nail polish collection out called Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel.

I scanned the display and saw that they colors were broken out into three scent categories: Freshes, Sweets & Spices, and Fruits & Florals. I do not know if this collection is Limited Edition or permanent and replacing Revlon's older scented nail polish range. Comment below if you know!

As much as I was intrigued by the fact that they were scented (more on that later), I was more focused on picking out some fashion-forward, sexy fall colors. The first color I picked out was Bordeaux, a dark wine-red/oxblood shade.

With flash, it looks brighter and redder, but in person it's definitely an oxblood dark brownish-red.

Packaging
Off the bat, I noticed the packaging is very reminiscent of Jo Malone perfume bottles. I love it! It stands out from the rest, that's for sure. The actual brush is a traditional brush shape, not like the wide Revlon Colorstay nail brushes which I find easier to use.

Scent
Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel Bordeaux is obviously supposed to smell like Bordeaux red wine, which is a fruity-berry wine. The packaging states that the smell is supposed to come out when the polish dries, which is true. This polish actually smells exactly exactly exactly like the Bourjois Healthy Mix and Healthy Mix Serum foundations, which have a distinct fruity berry smell. I applied this polish late at night, and I could smell it as I slept (faintly), but in the morning the smell was gone.

Lasting Power
I took these pictures after having worn the polish for two days. As I write this, I'm on Day 6 and I have some small chips on my right index and middle fingers, and those are the first ones to go for me.

Ingredients
With their newer polishes, Revlon has moved towards a "3-free" ingredients list. The ingredients label on the back of this Parfumerie bottle is teeny tiny and too tiny for a photo with my camera. That said, I couldn't find any of the five bad nail polish ingredients (Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor) in the list on the bottle. I can't confirm this for sure means that Revlon Parfumerie is "5-free" since Revlon hasn't added this collection to its Revlon.com's nail polish section, and the collection is not on the other site I usually check for ingredients lists (Drugstore.com). All I can say is that I don't see them on the list for this particular polish.

Overall Thoughts
I will be definitely be reapplying Bordeaux this fall and upcoming winter season. It's got that perfect oxblood shade, the lasting power is great and it just looks great on my short nails. The only problem is that I crave a little red wine red wine whenever I look down at my fingers!
