The Perfect Oxblood Nail | L'Oréal Nail Color Riche 'Haute Couture Red' Review and Swatches

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

As you may know from my last nail post, I am obsessed with bordeaux/oxblood nails for fall and winter. Oxblood was huge last fall season but I think it's such a classic, vampy shade so I doubt it ever going out of style. It's moody, yet still wearable for work.

While I love Revlon Parfumerie's Bordeaux,  I wanted to see if the L'Oréal Nail Color Riche line had a similar shade. At Target, I found it! According to Karen from makeupandbeautyblog, Haute Couture Red came out Spring 2012. I do believe this is a permanent color, yet I've only found it at my Target and not at my drugstores. It looks like it's available on Ulta.com.

Now this is a true true oxblood. It's a brownish congealed blood red — perfect! Haha.

How L'Oréal Describes the Color Riche line:
Use Colour Riche Nail for 7 days of hold with a formula that enriches nails, so nails stay strong & healthy coat after coat. Also included are shine agents that reflect light evenly to give nails a sophisticated eye catching glow.

The L'Oréal Nail Color Riche formula is not especially longwearing on me. On day three (when these pictures were taken), I had some small chips on a couple fingers on my right hand. It's ok though, because this just may be a remove-then-reapply type of shade ;) I do agree with the brand claims that my nails look quite shiny, but I'm also wearing a topcoat.

I believe the L'Oréal Nail Color Riche line is 5-free.

I'm in love love love with Haute Couture Red! For $5.99, this is a MUST-BUY this winter!
