FOTD: Smoldering Dark Bronze Eyes

Saturday, December 21, 2013

Today I found some pictures that I had sworn I had posted but I guess I never did, so here they are! I took these this past June, when I was nice and tan. This is a six month old FOTD, but it's worth sharing if I do say so myself. Most of the products I wore that day are especially made to be long-lasting, so it was supposed to be a "hot muggy nights" post, but of course all these would be great for a long night out in any weather. This dark bronzey eye look would be great for a night out or date night as it's sure to grab some attention. What I love about this look I created is that I didn't use liquid liner to let the shadows stand out more and to look more effortless.  I especially love the way I took the shadow down on the lower lashline to make the look extra smokey and worn-in, a la Kate Moss.

The shadows I wore are from my favorite line of drugstore shadows, the L'Oréal Infallible range. They have excellent color payoff, don't crease and last all day. I've said it before and I'll say it again, these are a must-buy! They're around $8 and perform just as well as luxury shadows.

L'Oréal Infallible Amber Rush on top, L'Oréal Infallible Bottomless Java on the bottom

I used Amber Rush as the first layer of an all over wash on my lids, then used Bottomless Java on top, blended on the crease and on the lower lashline. I then went in to line my upper and lower waterlines with a black liner and added lots of mascara. I most likely blended the liner and shadow together a lot to get this smokey of a look on the lower lashline.
Here's the rest of the bronzey look! Keeping the cheeks bronzey with Betty-Lou Manizer and Hot Mama really complimented my tan, and the NYX Mega Shine lipgloss in Frosted Beige were just subtle enough to bring more attention the eyes.
